Review: Smashbox Full Exposure Eye Shadow Pallete workshop

As I promised angels, a beauty review of my experience at press event where make- up artist Will Malherbe from Smashbox gave me a make- up workshop I actually can use!

You might have noticed I don’t wear that much of make- up (usually). I like a natural look, with sometimes a colored lip. So, obviously I’m not that familiar with the whole make- up thingie. Well, the workshop Smashbox make-up artist Will Malherbe gave me was in honor of the newest Smashbox Full Exposure Eye Shadow Palette available from 15th November. Focused on shaping your face, especially the eyes and lips. I hate to admit it, I really could use some help with this one. And Will was a absolute darling.

The workshop started off with a base primer and foundation. Then bronzing, from my temple to my cheekbone. A very important tip for shaping your face. Always start from the temple! That explains why I normally looked like a pink panther when I tried to apply some bronzer here and there. While Will continued bronzing my nose pads he told me the next step would be highlighting to emphasize my eyes. So the center of my nose, my forehead (to make it look smaller and bring the focus to my eyes and lips) and just above my cheekbones got highlighted. Normally the skin just below the eyebrows gets highlighted to, but due to my slightly lighter skin tone in that area I didn’t need it there (yay).

After finishing the bronzing and highlighting process mr. Malherbe started on my eyes with the Full Exposure Eye Shadow Palette. He showed me how to make my eyes stand out using an almond shape and gave me some additional tips and tricks I really can use. The Full Exposure Eye Shadow Palette includes a leaflet where you get the basics on how to get the perfect eye look.

Next were my eyebrows, a part of myself I’m conscious about since I have to deal with two tiny lines above my eyes. So Will advised me to make my eyebrows look thicker and fuller. Somehow it draws the attention to your eyes and makes them the focus point in your face. After my eyebrows it was time for my lips. Will showed me some mesmerizing colors. And we finally chose for a Violet lip liner with Current Be Legendary Lip Lacque to give my lips just the right pop. Will told me to first line my lips before coloring them, this will help keeping the lipstick stick longer. And he was right angels! I hadn’t had to color my lips for at least 5 hours.

Finishing the workshop I can state being a lot of customized tips and tricks richer. And how fun it was to be advised and treated by a professional make-up artist. Thank you Will Malherbe! I already tried every single tip and I have to say, I’m absolutely in love with it! Oh, and did I already mention the Full Exposure Eye Shadow Palette is quite famous among beauty lovers all over the world? But don’t worry angels, 15th November the Full Exposure Eye Shadow Palette will be available in Douglas stores.
